Dearborn’s Miss Michigan wins Miss USA pageant
Miss USA pageant concluded by crowning a winner from Michigan named Rima Fakih where Arab Americans found cheering for their bet in Metro Detroit. According to one of her biggest supporters, Rami Haddad aged 26 from Livonia, it is a simply unbelievable and it is a dream come true.
The newly crowned Miss USA is of Lebanese descent and is also considered to be the first Arab-American and Muslim to win the coveted title of Miss USA. Aside from this, she is also the first one from Michigan to get the award since the year 1993.
According to the director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination committee, Imad Hamad, this is truly historic and this shows how great a country America really is where everyone has the same chance of making it.
Fakih, the 24 years old brunette bombshell from Michigan managed to beat 50 other beautiful women for the 2010 Miss USA crown even after almost stumbling in her evening gown wear.
She nearly fell while she was finishing her walk in a long strapless gown. She almost lost her balance due to the length of its train but managed to recover without a spill and went on to grab the title as the pageant came to its conclusion.
Fakih agreed that birth control should be paid for by health insurance in her final interview and defended her answer well.
